    This meal experience began and ended with Derrin our server. He greeted my son & I shortly after we entered, sat us and took our drink order. Whatever we asked for was not a problem. We order breakfast food and Derrin was on top of it. Our food hit the table about 15 mins. after we sat down. I saw the other review after we sat down. But we had a great time, Thanks in large part to Derrin.

    The food was good - I really enjoyed their new fruit crepe, and they were nice to our 15 month old son who really didn't want to sit and eat. The coffee was good (and believe me - I have had bad coffee), and when I asked for a to-go cup, it was delivered quickly and full. The service was a little slow at times, but it was a Saturday morning, and although they were not super busy, I wouldn't have called it slow either. We really were not in a hurry, so that didn't bother us too much (just near the end when the little guy really wanted out!) It's going to be a place we go to again for food.

    Good, quick food on a Tuesday morning. The place is clean, the server is pleasant and the music isn't to loud. This is a popular place with small biz owners and Bible study groups, so there is a lot of conversation, but it isn't loud. Like any ihop, three kitchen us kinda loud and the phone can be annoying, but hey, it's a truck stop! Nice spot.

    Service is TERRIBLE! My wife and I have learned to order everything at once, otherwise it could be a long time before your server comes back. Food's fine though.

    My husband and I had a very pleasant experience at the Capitol Heights IHOP (5/28/12). I want to give a special shout out to our waitress Shirlett! Great customer service and very attentive to our needs! While we were waiting for our meal another waiter came by and asked if we had been helped. I love breakfast anytime of the day, it's even better when I don't have to cook and just order off a menu! Since I am not an expert at cooking pancakes, the food was good. In addition we didn't have to wait a long time for a table or our food. My husband loves lemon in his water, Shirlett gave him lots of lemon in his water and she also gave him a to go cup with water and lots of lemon! Great customer service! We will definitely go back and hopefully get the same waitress!

    Music too loud...environment not conducive to food and eating calmly...employees use the air as communication medium tossing shout outs from the kitchen to dining area ... My breakfast served cold and tasteless . A welcome Monday morning for sure!!

    Worst Ihop ever. We waited at least 45 minutes for our food to arrive and when it did it was COLD. We ended up going to the Checker's drive thru next door.

    This is where I go when I am really craving quick pancakes and am too lazy to go anywhere else or missed the breakfast hours at better places. They put you on hold without even saying can you hold if you are calling for carryout. Customer service was AWFUL all 4 times I have been there. Why bother going back I don't know people, because I have a deep deep love of pancakes!

    Just à great breakfast place! There is à difference in service during busy times vs. slow. Some servers are older while most are young and presentation can be off. Sundays they are busy and ordres are not taken properly or they are rushing. Management is good so they trump the mistakes of the kitchen and the servers.

    This is the worst IHOP I have ever been to. Our waitress never checked up on us and served other families before us that sat down after us. We waited forever and the food came as we were getting up to walk out. Our orders weren't correct. The waitress didn't apologize for the wait or anything and then turned to the other table and happily asked them about their meals. On top of all of that, she was super greedy! I wrote $0.00 on the tip because there was no way I was giving her a tip. Just as we were stepping away from our table she literally ran over to our table to look and see if she got a tip!! The worst service I have ever had.

    Seems this IHOP gets a bad rating by many. However, I've done most around the beltway. This one is one of the better choices. Walking in on a Sunday morning typically is a bad idea. Come with patience. This morning we arrived at 9:56. We were eating by 1015 and walking out the door by 10:45. That is great service on a Sunday. . Oh by the way, this is one of the few IHOP'S in the area that do have wifi. A little slow but its got wifi. Today Carlos was on it. Great job.

    One of the best locations with food served as it is pictured on the menu. Food was so good, I was looking for a mom to slap lol. Big portions, too. Not sloppy. Served us someone's half drunken coffee, we believe. Sustaining four stars because of how good the food was! However, the ghetto, teenage staff needs to go. Horrible service with attitudes, and this was on a Sunday. Still, I would return, but ask to be seated in the section of an adult server.

    DONT...WASTE...YOUR...TIME. You'd have better luck doing McDonalds or Dunkin Donuts drive-thru for breakfast, or just stay at home and have a bowl of cereal. This place is that horrible and after 5 less-than-satisfactory visits, I won't be going back --- EVER. Last Saturday, we sat for 30 minutes waiting for our food and finally left. How do you understaff your kitchen on a Saturday afternoon (we weren't even there during the breakfast rush), your biggest day? Tons of workers just standing around, while the tables need cleaning and the floor needs vacuuming. I hope this place shuts down and a business that can really offer good breakfast sets up shop.

    Omg... Went here Saturday at 11:45. They told us a 5-10 minute wait which they actually adhered to; however, they brought us to a table with other people sitting there and asked if we would sit with them. I thought this was very bizarre, we said we would rather wait for our own table. We were sat a couple minutes later and our hostess brought us coffee. We waited for 15 minutes and no one even came by, said "I'll be with you soon" or anything else. We decided to wait 5 more minutes and still no one. It wasn't that the place was swamped either as many servers were standing around texting. We decided to leave and will never go back. Don't waste your time.

    This place isn't clean at all. The tables are dirty. The silverware is dirty and the service is horrible. The restaurant in general has a really dirty feel. The food was your typical IHOP fare but I couldn't retune after my first visit because it was just too dirty. The place needs to be totally redone before I would ever eat there again

    Went today for my birthday, and brought in my bday coupon on my phone. However, I didn't know I needed to print it out first in order to use it. Well Donald my server helped me out though. He got the manager Mrs. Brown, and she helped me so I could still use the coupon! So appreciative of there extra work towards great customer service.

    My mother and I went to this ihop about 5 days ago. The server was nice but the food was cold. My mom sent the food back so that they can give us a new order. Good thing because as soon as she did we seen a roach crawl on the wall and then on to the syrup. DIGUSTING!!!!! The waiter was standing right there. He had a nerve to ask us did we want to move to another table. We left the location never to returned. We all know where there's one roach there are 100's. An by the waiters nochalant attitude you can tell this was not the first time this happened. Never will I ever go back to this place.

    Again I'm not sure what all the bad reviews are about we go here quite often when we're in the area the food is always delicious and hot and the server is always wonderful we've never had a problem we came here and every time we come there's a group of police officers eating somewhere in a corner which makes it even better and I feel safer a definite go to spot for a quick yummy meal

But to sum it up, DON'T EAT HERE!!!!!!!) **************************************************­**** When I say this has got to be the worst IHOP experience I have EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER, EVER had, I mean the absolute WORST!!!! (Why didn't I heed the advice of my fellow Yelpers???) For starters, on the day of my visit, Ms Phyllis the hostess, was manning the hostess stand & taking names as the restaurant which was kind of crowded; no biggie, ok. I noticed 3, not 1, not 2, but 3 sets of diners enter, put the names on the list (bc I personallllllllly saw 2 sets drive up after us, exit their vehicle & THEN give their names) after myself & my family entered, listed our names & sat await a table. When the 3 sets of diners were seated, I walked to Ms Phyllis she consulted the list & advised me "they were here already"; hmmmmm puzzling to me because as she looked at the list, so did I & I clearly saw our family name & another dead smack in the middle of names that had crossed through with a line... Ma'am, how are you skipping folks like this???? Then magically, after the Q&A session with Ms Phyllis, a table became "available" for my party of 3.5 (3 adults 1 baby); what miracles never cease #sarcasm Mr Donald the server was ever so pleasant & made sure our food was delivered & was not only pleasing to the palette, but also in temperature & appearance. But the proficiency of his food delivery, he lacked in memory. We had to ask several times for condiments & drinks to be refilled. When asked for the check, we got it, but didn't know what to do with it: pay at the register, give it to him or possible eat the check, sheesh #moresarcasm The one & ONLY bright spot of the visit was Ms Sharnyta; she seemed to be our personal attendant. She made sure we got the things that Mr Donald failed to provide & additionally she visited frequently to check if there was anything more we desired to have; #IHOPsuperstar. I'd like to see her transferred out to another location where CUSTOMER SERVICE matters. Apparently, here, it's all about the food. The other tom foolery that can be noted & which attributed to a poooor poor rating in my book was: -the table we were seated at, we had to ask it be wiped down ONCE we were seated; thought this was supposed to happen PRIOR to seating folks; IJS -shouting across the restaurant by fellow employees, one to another; I mean let's use our professional inside voices people -trashed napkins strewn about on the floor & in the walk way, thanks Ms Sharnyta for attending to that -more loud talking & huddling of employees at the register; I mean I came here to dine, not to overhear conversations about who shot John (figurative reference) -my sister asked for a high chair; I think my niece grew 12 inches by the time we got it... My sister literally walked over to get it & once she was noticed, someone came to assist her with delivering the chair I was appalled at this visit; never have I seen such un-customer friendly type, unprofessional, backyard antics in my life thus far. I paid the bill & we were outta there... That was an experience I never care to repeat.

    This is one instance where I will say ignore the reviews. I did and had a great meal. Maybe it was because it was later in the evening, who knows. The food was fresh and tasty. The customer service was great, the young man was pleasant and prompt. I loved my buttermilk pancakes and my BFF loved her chocolate chocolate chip pancakes! Our omelets were light and fluffy and the steak and chicken were cooked just right!

    My friends and I had a really good experience. There was the typical after church crowd but the wait wasn't incredibly long. Our server was Antwan and he was really helpful and very attentive. We also noticed that there was an overwhelming amount of males working. We were very impressed with their work ethic and professionalism. Keep it up!

    Horrible service. And they bring the food out the way they want, with no attention to the order its is normally done. The waitress thought it was more important to pay attention to her co workers than her table. Don't salads come before your dinner entree, not after? She brought the salads after the meal was served and half eaten, and when I asked her why she didn't bring the salads before the meal like is usually done, her answer was, "no, they come WITH the dinner" , missing my point that the order in which the food is served is not the same as what side dishes accompany the entree. And ignored the fact they came AFTER the meal was half eaten. She disappeared for the 30 -40 minute wait for the food, which included an appetizer of onion rings (also brought AFTER the dinner was 3/4 eaten) and blamed the delay on the kitchen. Of course, normally the server would warn you or apologize, but not Ebony. She couldn't be bothered to pay attention to the process at all. The server makes the side salads, no? She should have brought them before the meal or advised us of the option to request that they come in normal order, but she was NOWHERE to be found. We needed more drinks during the long waiting for the food and had to try to flag other, more attentive servers. There was hair on the table but I was afraid to ask someone to clean it after already complaining about so many other issues. Ordered the set of five pancakes she said consisted of a full stack, only to receive four. No, she didn't count them to see we got the five. My entree salad was not made properly either, with the pecans on the bottom not tossed in with the greens. Doesn't appetizer mean it comes before the meal? Not at ihop. And this was all when the restaurant was at about 15% capacity. NOT BUSY. Anyway, I wouldn't want to even think about going there again. IHOP: get new management here this place is HORRIBLE!

    This is the second time I have been in 6 mons an the customer service was terrible. First I stood for a few minutes before someone came to seat us. When finally seated they took a good 10 minutes before someone serviced us. If my children weren't so hungry I would have left earlier. The only time they were quick to service us when when it was time to pay.. Last night I went bout the same time 9:00 waited around for 15 minutes watched different staff walk past an look at us an kept it moving. They stood around laughing an conversing with each other but no came to help any us sitting.listen to their phone ring of the hook the whole 15 minutes I sat an waited. It wasn't that crowded to begin with so they were not super busy to where no one wasn't available to assist us I got pissed because my kids were tired an hungry so I left to ..I will not return to that IHOP.

    Just my luck I get the slowest server of all time. Why does it take 20 mins for her to come back with a togo box. At this point i want to take the generous tip I gave. Since their arent any decent IHOP near here...... (no comment)

    I can only speak through my experience here obviously, but the service I was given was amazing. I had the pleasure of having "William" assigned to me and he was very personable, attentive to my needs IE: empty cups and frequent check ins on if I was ok. This should be standard service in a restaurant but the sad reality is it .

    Came here on Christmas day knowing its going to he busy. It took a server about 30 minutes to come to our table after already telling another server we've been waiting for 15 mintutes. There was a table of 16 next to us who got their drinks first amd we ordered before them. Place is very disorganized with abunch of over whelmed servers panicing when it's busy. Will not come back.

    I'm much more of a gourmet fusion kind of gal far as breakfasts go. I also can make a better egg omlette than IHOP. They can totally destroy a good breakfast. Our server Bryante was sweet though. He was attentive as could be. I can hardly believe IHOP gets so much business. Are people that hard up for breakfast food or do they really think IHOP is good? A diner can give better and even fresh and hot food than this joint. I shouldnt have to ask for my eggs to be hot. That's just gross. My food came cold, the cheese wasn't even melted. Makes me wonder why considering how food was constantly going past me to other tables. Maybe their food was cold too Also...the coffee carafe left our table was just enough to fill my friends coffee cup and mine only half way and it was done. That should be a sin. They didn't bring a full one? Seriously? smh I need my coffee before I have a meal or I become something of the alien kind. When it comes to food, serve it right the first time please. I will review you and it will be a big negative. Had I known the area better, I would have tried to find a good place to eat, maybe even a good truck stop diner which couldn't be worse then here but I somewhat blame my friend for bringing me here in the first place. I never think to myself..oh hey I feel like going to IHOP today. It doesn't register in my mind as an option. I just don't like it and the icing on the cake is the the bathrooms need to be better attended too. Replace the empty cardboard toilet seat covers please.

    I have dined at this IHOP quite often and the food is normally good for an IHOP. But the service here has really been horrible as of late. I must have waited for over 10 minutes afte my family was seated to get any service. This was after I had to get up and find a manager, then deal with this rude waiter! I have never had to put up with as much crappy service in my life. So I left, called Corporate and hope they fire thus rude waiter.
